Do You Think We Should Have Churches In Prison?

May 17, 2016 at 9:59 AM

One of PCA’s pastors, Rev. Diane Harrison of Memphis, TN, posted this beautiful testimony on Facebook recently.  One of her parishioners at Grace Place inside the walls of one of Tennessee’s women’s facilities was going in front of the parole board and was hoping and praying that she would be granted parole.  Rev. Diane asked all of her Facebook friends to pray that Bessie be granted parole.  This is her latest post, reprinted with her permission.

Today is a day to give thanks to God!! Here is a part of a letter I received today from our wonderful Bessie who was granted parole after being incarcerated 33 years. "Now sit down and get ready to jump up and scream. I made parole today 5/11/16. After all these years my Lord Jesus Christ has set me free! I took him to the parole board with me. I have to find a halfway house but I know my Lord will help me. Now I can come home, serve God and serve my Grace Place. You know it was you and Grace Place that saved me. Your love brought me to my Lord. I love you all so much. Please keep me close to your heart. I am in total shock, I can't stop crying."

Now, do you think we should have churches in prison? Do you think the church should support churches in prison? Do you really believe that the Lord can forgive anything we do and transform our lives?  Yes, yes, yes! Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost!! Amen!
